Last night was like the fifth time I saw this movie again. "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara". It is one of those movies that I'd stack up after Dil Chahta Hai as an all time favourite.
The movie is like a fun ride packaged with life lessons that really touched me.
Remember the scene when Laila(Katrina Kaif) and Arjun(Hrithik Roshan) go out for a walk after dinner?
That is without a doubt my favourite scene in the movie.
Arjun talks about how at a very young age he faced an ugly truth. He believed that money is the biggest necessity in the world and that it is the source of all happiness.
Laila: Toh phir tum uss din roye kyu the? dive ke baad? Kabhi paycheck milte waqt tumhare aakhon mein aansu aayein hai?...
...agar aaj bhi kisi cheez ki kami mehsoos hoti hai toh woh kya hai? Unn cheezon ke liye waqt nikalon jinse tumhe sachmuch khushi milti hai.
Arjun: Well yeah, that's the plan. Chaalis ke baad i'll retire and then...
Laila: Dude, Tumhe kaise pata hai ki tum chaalis tak zinda rahoge?
And BAAAMM! It got me thinking. Everyone of us has a long term dream, right? I will start my own business once i'm done with my MBA and i'm 25. Just ask yourself the same question Laila asked Arjun. What if life doesn't even give you the opportunity to reach your dream. Seize the day my friend. First live the present day to the fullest and then worry about the future.

I always had this dream of starting my own business but now, I asked myself if I was even sure I'll be alive to live my dream in the future? NO. So I started thinking and you know what guys, I've already finished making my first business plan. I started working on it sometime back and it will soon be a reality :-) Something that I had left on to the future me to take care of is now in the safe hands of the present me, and trust me it feels great. I now feel more happy, lively, peaceful and ten times more confident.
So friends this is the first road of our journey,
Ask yourself! Are you even sure you'll be alive in the future when you finally plan to start living the dream you always had for yourself? If the answer is NO, start living your dream today :-)If you find logic in the direction Road 1 takes you to then do let me know. I would love to hear your comments.
I've watched this movie 5-6 times myself...it most certainly is one of the best movies of recent times. Watching it is like a treat to your eyes. Such beautiful locations; but what makes it more special is the silent message it gives...We all are stuck with our daily routines and problems and fears that only seem big, what we need to do is zoom out and look at the big picture, it's beautiful and it's called Life :)
ReplyDeleteWas nice reading your blog buddy......
ReplyDeleteReading up all this I found myself as yet another Arjun(Hritik Roshan). In hunt of securing future, I myself was lost thinking of future and not living the present.
Life mein there are many roads but for walking on every road you have to leave that single that road which makes you think of your future and just go on and on and on.
I'm glad that my writing could inspire you. Thanks Dollar :)
